FAQs

Are all sports eligible?

Yes. Any sport with a governing body/organization (park & rec., high school / middle school, YMCA, AYSO, etc.) is eligible. We define sport as an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

Are all athletes eligible to apply for a CRAF scholarship?

Yes. Any athlete residing in the state of Georgia may apply. Because CRAF grants are need-based, athletes must supply proof of need with their application.

What kind of proof of need is accepted?

We require a Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC letter, screenshot, or image verifying the athlete is a beneficiary of Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC. If the athlete does not have any of these documents, we will make every effort to verify that a need exists.

How will the funds be awarded?

CRAF will pay registration fees directly to the athletic group or organization on behalf of the athlete. If equipment is needed, CRAF will purchase the equipment and have it shipped to the athlete.

What sort of expenses are eligible?

Athletes may apply for a scholarship to cover registration fees, equipment and uniform costs.
